Endowed Scholarships
Scholarships are monies you do not have to pay back. All students are considered for University-wide scholarships (a few academic colleges may require a separate application). Incoming first-year students are automatically considered for Penn State Mont Alto scholarships.
Eligibility for scholarships is often based on merit and in many cases financial need. Below you will find a listing of endowed scholarships that are available for Penn State Mont Alto students.
JOE W. & CAROLYN A. AUSHERMAN TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP
Consideration for this scholarship is given to all undergraduate students who have achieved positive academic records and have proven financial need. First preference shall be given to students in the eligible pool who have graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
BARKDOLL FAMILY OPEN DOORS SCHOLARSHIP AT PENN STATE MONT ALTO
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto, who are participating in Open Doors Programs or students who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet the necessary college expenses.
BARTLETT TREE FOUNDATION AWARD
Consideration is given to full- and part-time students enrolled or planning to enroll in the majors of Forest Technology who have achieved superior academic records and have demonstrated interest in a career in arboriculture or urban forestry. (By application per forestry faculty – Oct/Nov)
HOPE M. BEARD TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP
Consideration for this scholarship is given to all undergraduate students enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto who are majoring in Nursing with demonstrated financial need.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn-State Mont Alto to major in a science-related program or any degree program that focuses on science, technology, engineering, or math, who have demonstrated financial need.

Consideration for this scholarship is given to all undergraduate students enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto who have achieved positive academic records and demonstrate financial need.

The purpose of this fund shall be to support undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who are pursing a degree in the Allied Health Program, or successor academic unit/program. Currently the Allied Health Program majors include Nursing, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

Consideration for this scholarship is given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto and who plan to pursue a degree in engineering. Students should have achieved superior academic records and promise of outstanding academic success.

Consideration is given to undergraduate students pursuing studies at Penn State Mont Alto. First preference to students who are children or grandchildren of employees or retirees of the Teledyne Specialty Equipment, Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, who have achieved positive academic records and have a financial need. Second preference to graduates of Waynesboro Area School District. Third preference for Franklin County, Pennsylvania, high school graduates.

Consideration for this scholarship is given to full-and part-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who have proven financial need. First preference shall go to Franklin County, Pennsylvania, students majoring in Engineering; second preference to Franklin County students majoring in science.

First preference shall be given to students majoring in Landscape Contracting. Second preference shall be given to students pursuing a major in Horticulture. Third preference shall be given to students majoring in an agricultural-related major.

Consideration for this scholarship is given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding success and who have a demonstrated financial need.
HENRY H. CHISMAN MEMORIAL AWARD
Consideration for this award shall be given to students completing their first year of Forest Technology who have demonstrated their personal integrity, resourcefulness, and good citizenship, and who have a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5.
HENRY E. CLEPPER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Consideration is given to full-time freshmen and sophomores currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the Mont Alto Honors Program, and who have achieved outstanding academic records and have a proven financial need.
JAMES AND LISA COWAN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. First preference to second-year students majoring in or planning to major in Forest Technology and second preference to second, third and fourth-year students majoring or planning to major in the Allied Health program.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet the necessary college expenses. From the identified pool of eligible recipients and to the extent possible, preferences shall be given to eligible recipients in the following order: First preference shall be given to students who are majoring in or planning to major in engineering or successor degree program. Second preference shall be given to students who are majoring or planning to major in a degree program that focuses on science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM).

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have achieved at least a 2.0 GPA and who have demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. First preference to student who have an emergency need for funds due to a hardship. Second preference to students who are not receiving any other scholarship funds.

Consideration is given to all students enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto as Forest Service majors who have completed at least two semesters of study. Additional criteria are a positive display of leadership, ability, good moral character and reputation, and dedication to obtaining an education.

Consideration is given to all full-time sophomore students enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto as baccalaureate or associate degree candidates in the Colleges of Engineering or Earth and Mineral Sciences. Students must also be residents of the Penn State Mont Alto service area. Additional criteria include academic standing and membership in professional honorary societies or other evidence of professional aptitude.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have achieved outstanding academic records or who manifest promise of academic success. First preference shall be given to eligible recipients who have served or are serving in the United States military, which shall be inclusive of those who were veterans, active duty, reservists, or National Guard. FRANK AND LEONORE H. SPEAREY SCHOLARSHIP IN FOREST RESOURCES AT MONT ALTO
Consideration for this scholarship is given to all undergraduate students pursuing studies at Penn State Mont Alto. Preference will be given to students who intend to pursue a four-year degree program in the School of Forest Resources regardless of the Penn State campus at which the degree is completed.
BARBARA J STANKOWSKI SCHOLARSHIP FOR U.S. MILITARY VETERAN AT PENN STATE MONT ALTO
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who are United States Military students. "United States Military Students" shall be inclusive of veterans, active-duty reservists, or National Guard.
STEVENSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FOR ANIMAL WELFARE IN MEMORY OF MISS GILL LEAMAN
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in or planning to major in an animal-related degree program at Penn State Mont Alto, or successor academic unit, who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
JEFFREY E. AND MARGARET L. STOUFFER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. First preference shall be given to students who are majoring or planning to major in a degree program in education, business, and /or allied health.
STOUT FAMILY ENDOWMENT FOR ALLIED HEALTH INTERNSHIP SUPPORT AT PENN STATE MONT ALTO The purpose of this fund shall be to support undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Mont Alto who are pursing a degree in the Allied Health Program, or successor academic unit/program. Currently the Allied Health Program majors include Nursing, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The Donor is establishing this fund in honor of her nieces, Nicole L. Stout and Jennifer Stout Conroy and to to thank all the nurses who watched over William L. Stout at Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA.

Consideration for this award is given to all students who are residents of Dauphin, Cumberland, or Lebanon Counties in Pennsylvania, and currently enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto in the forestry curriculum; the second preference shall be given to students who are residents of Dauphin, Cumberland, or Lebanon Counties and enrolled in any curriculum other than forestry; and third preference shall be given to all other students enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto in the forestry curriculum.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in or planning to major in Forest Technology at Penn State Mont Alto who have a demonstrated financial need.
